This is cool.
This video shows the non-Newtonian properties of cornstarch mixed with water when placed on top of a subwoofer. It creates a bizarre effect that looks like the mixture is dancing. Pretty cool. This would make an AWESOME science fair project. I hear the Gorillaz in my head.... hmmm. Thanks Neatorama for the link.
Happy St. Patty's Day!
Happy St. Patrick's Day. I'm in Boston kissing the Blarney Stone so to speak... getting my Irish roots on. Okay, I'm not Irish, but I do have reddish hair! Enjoy this classic clip from the Muppets of the Swedish Chef, Animal and Beaker regaling us with their amazing rendition of "Danny Boy". It's a hoot!
And you thought Michael Jackson wasn't relevant anymore...
The news is so uninspiring lately with all the election hubbub and Elliot Spitzer nonsense... so I decided to do what any self-respecting blogger would do and rely on the infinite cuteness and adorable behavior of the animal kingdom. Check out this dancing walrus - Michael Jackson's got nothing on him. I love it.
Get off the crack, Anderson! It's Wack!
I have no idea why I like Jiminy Glick so much... but I just can't help myself. I have no idea how old this clip is, but I couldn't resist posting it. Jiminy (aka Martin Short on acid) does his very best Larry King impression while interviewing Mr. 360 himself, Anderson Cooper. Not much revealing information here, but we do get to see one of my favorite things, Anderson giggling. At one point, he's wiping the tears away. I think he almost got Glick a'gigglin' too... I thought I saw him crack a smile for a sec. Anyways... giggle away Andy, I love you so.
Jimmy Kimmel gets his revenge... at last!
Okay, Jimmy Kimmel has pulled out all the stops to get back at his lady love Sarah Silverman and Matt Damon by making his response video heretofore known as "I'm f*cking Ben Affleck". Jimmy called in all his favors to put this little ditty together - and his friends celebrate him coming out of the closet with his beau Ben with a "We are the world" parody video. Look for Harrison Ford, Robin Williams, Joel & Benji Madden, Brad Pitt, Rebecca Romijn, Christina Applegate, Meatloaf, Pete Wentz, Cameron Diaz, Huey Lewis, Macy Gray, Joan Jett and my personal favorite guest star, Josh Groban. I lost my cookies when Josh started belting out his verse. I'm sure I missed a few cameos - but who could count em all? I think Jimmy has settled the score.... for now. I can't wait to see what's next.
If you've missed the Matt Damon vs. Jimmy Kimmel rivalry - click here to catch up. You won't regret it!
John Lennon would love this...
This little boy from Korea named Hero is channeling decades worth of Beatlemania in his little 2 year old body. He treats us to his adorable rendition of Hey Jude... and let me tell ya, not bad at all. So cute. I think I'm overloading on cuteness today... must be the rainy weather keeping me in the house.... and on the internet. Anyways... if you want a little more info on little Hero - here's another video it's in Korean but you get the gist. Get ready Korean Idol 2015!
It's been a long week... and it's only Monday.
Well, it's actually Wednesday, but I couldn't resist posting this super funny video of Bill Clinton falling asleep at a Martin Luther King Day ceremony/service this past Monday. I suppose that talking trash out on the campaign trail really takes it out of you. Just kidding, you know I love ya Bill. Take a nap - and I'll see you at the primaries! Vote Hillary!
Jerry O'Donnell will NOT be making Jerry Maguire 2
If you didn't see the promotional video for the Scientology center that Tom Cruise made - you're a little slow on the trigger. It was leaked last week on to the world wide interweb, and quickly yanked by Xenu everywhere it was posted. Tom Cruise came off looking more than a little nutso in his ranting about how Scientologists are the only good people - and the only people that are equipped to do anything right. He was very sincere (as usual) and slightly maniacal (that laugh!) and overall quite creepy in his arrogance about it all. He threw around tons of terminology and Scientology-speak just like a devoted disciple. Ick.
Well... over at FunnyorDie, Jerry O'Connell, Cruise's co-star in Jerry Maguire, has done a great parody video aping the actor's every crazy video moment. I'm pretty sure Jerry should be sleeping with tin foil on his head for a while before the aliens come to get him. I wish I understood the whole Scientology thing... there are a lot of celebs that believe it. Click here for a comprehensive list of other Celebrity Scientologists. Then clear out your internet history so "they" don't come and get ya!
UPDATE: Craig Ferguson from the Late, Late Show has done his own spoof - albeit slightly more nonsensical and maniacal - it captures the spirit of the original quite well. Quite mad - but quite well.
Richard Simmons always brings a smile to the set....
This clip from Whose Line Is It Anyway? featuring guest star Richard Simmons is the funniest sketch on that show I've ever seen. I think it's even funnier that it aired on ABC Family channel! Do you think Richard is gay? I bet Greg Proops and Drew Carey are still laughing a little inside.... hilarious.
Happy Friday!
Here's a sickeningly cute and funny video of cats being themselves to Bjork's It's Oh So Quiet. Nice mash-up of all those lol cats out there - and a bang-up editing job. My husband is mesmerized by kittens. (Insert your own joke here... go ahead, I'll wait). I suppose he can't help his obsession with the kittie porn. They're just so darned cute, those kittens.
Beware of Scary Poppins!
A retro movie mash-up to get you in the Halloween spirit - this one featuring Mary Poppins as the horror mistress she really is. This movie actually reads as a scary film really well! If I saw this before the movie... I never would have had the chance to develop my chidhood crush on Dick Van Dyke.
Unicycle Dancing
All I can say is WOW. I can barely walk down a flight of stairs without falling... much less think about flying across a basketball court on a unicycle backwards. Talent!
Will she go for number 8? or 9? whatever...
A few weeks ago there was a rumor floating around about Elizabeth Taylor getting married for the umpteenth time. I thought her response to the question in this interview was hilarious. Noooooo, incredibly hilarious... and infinitely imitatable. Thanks Liz!
Night of the living Bread...
Halloween is fast approaching - and I can't help but find myself in the mood for a little ghoulish gore. I first saw this Night of the Living Dead parody years ago on late Friday night programming on ABC. It was played right before they went off the air after Friday Night Videos. (remember the days before MTV?!) Anyways... for years, I thought I imagined it the whole thing.... thank god for Youtube. This one is surprisingly true to the original... and only 8 minutes long. Just like the first one should have been.
This knife throwing mom-n-daughter act is craaaazy!
This outrageous video features a mom throwing knives at her two little daughters as part of some crazy act in the 1950s. The two little girls looked like they've practiced playing "stand still or you die" a lot... while the mom looks like she practices visualizing "stand still or you die" a lot. What a team! Listen for the narrator to mention a near miss.... shudder.
Click here if video doesn't play.
