Welcome to the house the "Just Jack" built...

Little Jack, the sometimes homeless and always moochy character from Will & Grace, has not only made good... but he's moving on up to bigger and better things. Sean Hayes has put his 4 bedroom, 5 bathroom for a paltry $8,950,000. Not bad considering he paid less than $2,000,000 way way back in 2001. The English Country manor located in Sunny LA boasts gourmet kitchen, rich wood paneled den and living room, separate guest house, stunning pool, outdoor fireplace and luxurious master suite. The house looks awfully Ethan Alleny, a little too conventional for the flamboyant Jack McFarland, but very marketable nonetheless.

Notorious haunts of the rich and famous...
Many famous folk, from Fatty Arbuckle to Sid Vicious, have had their lives change forever in not-so-private hotel rooms. Forbes Traveler has put together a slideshow of celebrity scandals that took place in their respective homes away from home. Murders, drug overdoses, illegal sex acts (my, oh my Oscar Wilde!), baby-dangling (above) and more make the list as does Sid Vicious, Jim Bakker, Anna Nicole Smith and Michael Hutchence Many of the rooms you can book for yourself... if you're not too worried about bad juju. Either way, take a peek the entire slideshow here.

Alexis Stewart on the move...
Alexis Stewart ,radio show hostess and daughter of billionaire Martha Stewart, is selling her Tribeca apartment... not sure where she's headed, but she's leaving a spectacular place behind. The very, very pristine penthouse is 3,884 square feet of minimal manse (i'm not sure what that means, but it sounds good so i'm going with it). I suppose if you are as high-strung as the fiesty Alexis, it's important to have a spacious, calming space to live. The listing goes a little like this...
This is a magnificent loft at the prized Ice House condominium building in ever popular Tribeca. With almost 4,000sf of space, the three bedroom, three and one-half bath loft has four exposures with incredible views overlooking Tribeca, the Hudson River and the city. There is a 14' x 34' terrace overlooking Tribeca, the City and the Hudson. The living area is solarium like with glass ceilings flooding the loft with wonderful light. The downstairs bedroom has a full bath and is now being used as a den/office with custom wood bookshelves and built in desk. A must see!
You too can live like the spawn of a domestic maven for only $12.4 million dollars. View the entire listing here. Be warned, you will not see the intensely ordered fussiness of her mother, but you will find that the apple doesn't fall far from the tree in all the intensely ordered non-fussiness. Put on your shades so you won't be blinded by the white!

The Fray's royal roots?
If you're a fan of the Fray, or an avid genealogist, or a whore for sumptuous real estate - I consider myself all three - then this little story might really interest you. It seems that Sir Benjamin Slade of Somerset, England is having trouble finding an heir for his 13th century, $15 million dollar country estate, Maunsel House, that has been in his family's posession for 800 years. His hoity-toity English relatives couldn't be bothered with his little country house and were not interested in taking on the upkeep and maintenance of the property so Sir Ben decided to look elsewhere...
He decided to make a reality show for the Discovery Channel so he could find a relative to inherit his house keeping it in the family. Here's where our tale takes a pop culture twist. Isaac Slade, of the pop-band the Fray, is a distant cousin and seems to be the front runner in the aristocrat's search.
He has 5,000 distant relatives in the United States alone, thanks to a 15th century ancestor who left England for the New World. Pleased as he is to make their acquaintance, Sir Benjamin has definite requirements for his heir-to-be. For proof of lineage, first of all, there's a DNA test. And then there are certain other criteria.
"Gays aren't very good because they're not going to breed," Sir Benjamin said. "I don't like communists. And I wouldn't want any bleeding heart liberals either."
The meeting between Sir Benjamin Slade and Isaac Slade apparently went well. "He is a very successful, clever young man," said Sir Benjamin. "He doesn't drink, doesn't smoke, doesn't take drugs. They're all Christians in that band."
Perhaps Isaac Slade is fated to inherit Maunsel House. According to Sir Benjamin, Isaac "looks like some of the portraits of the ancestors." Nevertheless, the competition isn't over yet. "I'm going to see all these relatives in America, have a bit of fun first," Sir Benjamin said. "There's a party for 150 Slades in Maryland on the Fourth of July. I'm determined to go."
Read more about the story here... and then head on over to the Maunsel House website.
The estate boasts 9 bedrooms, a library, ball room, bar, estate church, herd of cattle and frequently hosts parties and weddings. It looks like a lovely, traditional old estate. Maybe I'll have to look up Sir Slade and see if he's made an appearance in my family tree... this is the kind of genealogy fantasy that couldn't possibly come true... but a girl can dream can't she?
