Well, well, well. My life might be over. The baby bug has hit my favorite man Matthew McConaughey as he announces on his blog that he & his girlfriend Camila are expecting a bouncing baby McConaughey. One thing's for sure... that baby won't be ugly - it'll be tan and toned and totally awesome! He sounds super excited and thrilled and stoked and ready to be a dad. This news explains the rumors that he's been hunting (and possibly bought) new property  - the kind that can't be rolled away like his Airstream.

My congrats go to the happy couple... I would love to have Matt as a dad. He seems like he'd be loads of fun and not much of a disciplinarian. Of course, they all seem that way until push comes to shove, eh?

Guess I'm out to find a new boytoy obsession... now that Matt's becoming an honest adult. Sigh. 

Oh what a year it was for the baby birthing set in Hollywood! Either the fertile flock to La-la land or there is something in the water out west as 2007 was quite a year for celebrity babies. There was no shortage of scandal (the Bridget Moynahan-Tom Brady-Gisele Bundchen love triangle and Eddie Murphy/Scary Spice paternity debacle), tragedy (Dennis Quaid's near-fatal hospital mix-up), silly baby names (Halcyon?  Angelina Jolie has made it official - and has added to her broadening brood one adorable little boy from Vietnam. She picked up a playmate for Maddox - evening out the kid count to 2 boys and 2 girls. 

The boy's name is Pax Thien Jolie, born in November 2003, according to the orphanage where he has lived. His name means Peaceful Sky – Pax is peace in Latin and Thien is sky in Vietnamese.

"Thank you for taking such wonderful care of my son," the Oscar-winning actress wrote in the visitors' book of the Tam Binh orphanage, according to Reuters. "I am sure he will miss your beautiful, caring staff as much as you will miss him."

Jolie's rep says she took custody of the child on Thursday in Vietnam. They will remain in the country for about a week while the child's American passport is processed, the rep says. Read more...

Pax has no idea how lucky he is.. he's not only going to lead a fabulous life, but he has a real family to call his own. I commend Angie and Brad for opening their homes and lives to adopt and accept needy children as their own. It takes special people to be good adoptive parents, and I think they understand the commitment and are building a beautiful family. They will make a kick-ass Benneton ad someday.

Just a funny note... I saw Mia Farrow on Bill Maher's HBO show last week talking about Angelina's latest adoption. She was asked if she felt competitive at all, and she replied that when Angie got up to her 10th child, she (Mia) would start thinking about adopting a few more. Funny.  

Meanwhile, a star is born back at home. Shiloh didn't want all the attention to be lost on her latest sibling - so she stepped in on the set of her daddy Brad Pitt's latest movie, The Curious Case of Benjamin Button, when a much lesser-caliber baby couldn't keep it together to get through her scene. Baby Shiloh saved the day and did her daddy proud! Her big debut will be playing Cate Blanchett's character as a baby.

She definitely has her mommy and daddy's genes... acting is in her blood. Who wouldn't want to see that face on a 30-foot high screen? too cute! Source

While Brad is busy wrapping up the New Orleans leg of his new movie shooting schedule and getting back to L.A.,  Angelina was out trying on bad-ass baby carriers to help her lug around her growing brood. Just kidding! Almost looks believable though... I thought this illustration by galleryoftheabsurd was genius in light of the adoption angel's impending internation addition.

In an upcoming Newsweek issue - Angelina opens up about a recent trip to Darfur refugee camps - and the earth mother is thoughtful as usual. 

Do you worry about people who say this is celebrity tourism?  If someone had a direct criticism of my opinion on the issue, if someone had a direct criticism of the image shown because they think it hurts somebody then I will take that into consideration. But there are a lot of people that simply have an immediate gut reaction and they just don't want to combine artists with foreign policy. And hey, I understand. I get it. I know where you're coming from. And to each his own. … You know, I was more shy when I first went into a camp that other field officers would not want me there.

You were worried that you'd get in the way.  Yeah. That's why I brought no media, it's why I sat back. That's why I just helped them load things. And if I felt that I was ever getting in the way, I wouldn't do it. Because I do care about the opinion of the aid worker, I do care about the opinion of the refugee. I care less about the opinion of the person who's never been in the field but has an opinion about celebrity.

Do you still go with so few people? I can't believe you take no one with you…  I take no one.  I [go] by myself on a commercial plane and into the field with my backpack. 

You still do that?  Yes, I just did that on my last trip.  I met the photographer there.

In the camp?  No, in the airport. We didn't even realize we were on the same flight.  We landed at like midnight and got up at like 5 in the morning to catch the WFP [World Food Program] plane [to a town near the camp].

It's obvious Angelina takes her charitable work seriously and is sincere in her desire to help. This woman has three kids at home, looks ridiculously gorgeous and believes in doing global good. Can we say superwoman anyone? Read the entire Newsweek article here.

• Lordy, lordy - someone in Hollywood finally snapped from those wearing those ridiculous extensions all the time. In case you missed it, following a 24-hour stint in a rehab facility "Crossroads" in Antigua, Britney Spears flew home to California and had an unfortunate 'moment.' This news comes right on the release of his Valentine's Day romantic comedy Music & Lyrics starring Drew Barrymore. The two made a dashing couple at the premiere last week... but according to Drew, she's way too cheery for the grumpy old Hugh. Grump lovers get your goodies together, Hugh could be yours!

• The Vampire Slayer and skating celeb Kristy Swanson & Lloyd Eisler have also debuted their newest collaboration, baby boy Magnus Hart Swanson Eisler. He was born on February 15 and weighted 7 lbs, 11 oz. Congrats.

The Project Rungay boys were lucky enough to score an invite to Project Runway alum Laura Bennett's baby shower. It seems like it was quite the fun fete with guests donning neon red bobbed wigs and wearing Laura's favorite color, black. She was gifted witha temporary tattoo of her soon-to-be-six kid's names that's designed to mimic her arch-rival (and winner) on Runway, Jeffrey Sebelia's. She might need a bigger neck if she keeps on poppin' em out. Laura should be due any minute now along with Heidi Klum. Thanksgiving babies anyone? See more pics of the party here.

Spider-Man Tobey Maguire and his fiancee Jennifer Meyer gave birth to a baby girl this past Thursday (Nov 9 2006) at Cedars Sinai in Los Angeles. No news on the supertot's moniker - but I'm sure glad the happy family is doing well. Congratulations! Source  Update! The baby's name is Ruby Maguire.

Just in case you've been in a coma for the last month - Anna Nicole Smith has decided to completely cash in on her tragic life of late - and this week Entertainment Tonight took us all to a new low to see the real Anna up close and personal. In not-so-happy baby news.... newlywed Pamela Anderson has confirmed that she suffered a miscarriage last week in Vancouver where she is shooting the movie, Blonde & Blonder. Her and her husband Kid Rock, currently share three children - Dylan and Brandon from Pam's marriage to Tommy Lee and Kid's 16 year old son, Bob Jr. Well now the carefree couple has an excuse to keep on tryin and tryin. • Tomorrow's the big day, Vanity Fair will feature the elusive and much-speculated-about baby of Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes - baby Suri. The photos were taken by Annie Liebowitz, the famous portrait photographer, and were rumored to have taken up to 21 days to perfect to finally obtain the couple's approval. The National Enquirer confirms the existence of the pics - so I guess it's gonna finally happen. We will finally get our chance to judge for ourselves whether or not there is any funny business going on. Good job Tom, on making the most of the hype... and I sincerely hope - that baby Suri is happy and healthy (and human!).

The little mama showed off her growing baby bump at the premiere of her movie "Lady in the Water" in London - but was reluctant to talk about it, citing "superstition". Kristy Swanson, ex-Buffy, and her Skating with Celebrities partner and ex-Olympian Lloyd Eisler are expecting their first child together.  The scandalous duo - starting seeing each other during the taping of their reality show - when Eisler's wife was pregnant with their second child. The Eislers separated in November and this duo started their relationship supposedly in December... Either way, a little vampire slayer is on the way - and due around Valentine's Day. Source

Rock Star's cutie hostess with the mostess, Brooke Burke, is pregnant with Dave Charvet (of Baywatch infamy) - it is their first child together. Brooke was previously married to Extreme Makeover's Garth Fisher and has two little girls Sierra and Neriah. It's hard to believe that Brooke has popped out two babies already - I wonder what she'll do this time without an at-home plastic surgeon to put her boobs back where they belong and zap away all those stretch marks? Congratulations to the happy couple.

In other baby news, it seems that Kelly Rowland is not pregnant contrary to what I previously reported! Rumors surfaced a few weeks ago from a bogus music company - complete with official quotes and engaging baby excitement. Kelly's real baby at the moment is her 2nd solo album, "My Story - Kelly Rowland". (New title anyone?) Read more about her album here.

With such a hollywood baby boom this year - it's tough to keep up with all the little tots. These A-list, including the babes of Heath Ledger, Melissa Joan Hart, Chris Backus, Brooke Shields, Rachel Weisz, Thandie Newton, Gavin Rossdale & Jennifer Garner. • The first infant to ever been immortalized at Madaam Tussaud's wax museum was unveiled in New York this week - Shiloh Jolie-Pitt has been reproduced in silicone (not wax!). They recycled their statues of Brad Pitt & Angelina Jolie and staged the whole happy family in an African nursery setting - little Shiloh looks spot on from the pictures. She's even wearing the groovy little tee from the People photo shoot. I can't help but wonder how bitter Maddox & Zahara will be when they realize they're not the chosen ones... bless their little hearts.
  
  
• Mr Simon Cowell has been a bad, bad boy. It seems like the critic with nothing nice to say has been steppin' out with 21-year old model Jasmine Lennar. The past six months they've been pretty hot and heavy...I'm not thinkin' his long-time girlfriend Terry Seymour is too happy that the two have been playing house every time she heads to their other home in L.A. Maybe it's time for Tori to make that grandkid thing happen -- even Candy couldn't resist cuddly goodness? right?
