Bug Sex 101 with the most beautiful girl in the world.

That crazy Isabella Rossellini... she sure does have the real-deal artistic blood coursing through her veins. Why else would she concieve, direct and act in a series of shorts depicting the odd ways bugs have sex? Whaaa?

Green Porno is a series of very short films conceived, written, co-directed by and featuring Isabella Rossellini about the sex life of bugs, insects and various creatures. The films are a comical but insightful study of the curious ways certain bugs “make love”. “Green” echoes the ecological movement of today and our interest in nature, and “Porno” alludes to the racy ways bugs, insects and other creatures have sex, if human, these acts would not be allowed to be screened or air on television, considered instead as most filthy and obscene.

Where in the world is Matthew McConaughey?

It's been quite a while since we've checked in with my main man Matthew McConaughey, I suppose he's been laying low with his latest galpal waiting for his new movie to come out (Feb 8), Fools Gold. Well, the waiting's almost over and the press push has begun. Matt and co-star Kate Hudson team up for an interview in Glamour mag and it goes a little something like this....

MM: I think it's fun [for audiences] to see us [on the big screen]. They want us to hook up, but they don't want us to hook up...

KH: We've never had any kind of relationship romantically and there's an element you can feel when we're working together.

MM: We're always courting. It's a constant flirting co

urtship, which keeps it really alive. We never dated. But we can still be attracted.

KH: I've seen you brush your teeth in the morning. I know what your body odor smells like. I can smell you from five blocks away. I know all your different style kisses. And I know all your different style hugs. If I were walking down a street and some guy came up and slapped my ass, if it were you, I would know it was you.

MM: Well you know what? If I were blindfolded and told to walk over and slap 10 asses, I would know which one was your ass.

I wonder what Matt smells like... Evidently whatever it is - it's really something. And I'll give him permission to slap my ass anytime. Meanwhile....

When he's not busy looking hot and having his picture taken, evidently Matt has been hangin' with Mr. Microsoft, Bill Gates, looking hot and workin it out. At the CES Convention in Vegas, Bill gave the crowd a glimpse into his retirement plans and he plans on workin out that pasty programmer body with the most famous workout dude since Jack Lallane. Watch Bill's funny send-off video - it's really cute!

Skidoo, skidoo - And the world will be a better place for you.

I don't know if you've ever seen the movie Skidoo (1968) directed by Otto Preminger, but if you haven't, you should immediately. I caught it last weekend on Turner Classic Movies underground series and it's a faboo combination of old people doing drugs and kooky kitsch. Jackie Gleason drops acid, Carol Channing strips to her undies and Groucho Marx plays God. What else could you want in a movie???? I mean seriously! It's hard to say this movie is good... but it still seems like something everyone with a sense of irony and retro cool should put on their watch list. For goodness sakes, they even SING THE ENTIRE CREDITS!!

Watch the whole thing below. This one isn't available on DVD - so if you want to download it for yourself, click here. I can't say it's good quality - but you'll get the idea.

Beware of Scary Poppins!

A retro movie mash-up to get you in the Halloween spirit - this one featuring Mary Poppins as the horror mistress she really is. This movie actually reads as a scary film really well! If I saw this before the movie... I never would have had the chance to develop my chidhood crush on Dick Van Dyke.

Women in Film Morph-o-rama

This video is a follow-up to Women in Art - and features dozens of female actresses getting their morph on. Everyone from Mary Pickford to Halle Berry. Nice montage...nicely done even if it does remind me of those "remember them fondly" montages of celebs who died during the Oscars. Enjoy!

Jack White plays karate Elvis

December is always a big movie month - and this upcoming one brings us the music biopic spoof, Walk Hard, starring John C. Reilly as the fictional Dewey Cox, Paul Rudd as John Lennon and Jack White as Elvis Presley. Dewey is a Johnny Cash character and Jenna Fischer plays her heart out as his love interest a la Reese Witherspoon. This one looks pretty fun... I'm interested in all things Elvis... and all things Jack White, so I'll be seeing it for sure. It's brought to you by Judd Apatow (Knocked Up) around Christmas. Watch the trailer below, it looks very sincere.  Source

What's up Matthew?

It's been awhile since we've caught up with my main man, Matthew McConaughey. Seems he's up to his usual antics, exercising on the beach, playing on the beach, surfing, and just plain ol' looking fant'ab'ulous doing it. I'll tell ya, a natural tan does a body good. (I'm aware of the irony in that last statement, never fear. Wear sunscreen kids!)

Anyways, as Surfer Dude wraps it up, it's time for Matty Matt to get his Scrooge on and get ready for Ghosts of Girlfriends Past, a Christmas Carolesque rom-com. According to director Matt Waters, “It’s Scrooge, but with hot chicks.” Yup, that sounds about right. Production will begin at the beginning of 2008... sounds like a summer date movie. I'll pencil it into my calendar. In th meantime,  jk livin Matt, jk livin.... and if you don't mind, keep your shirt off.  Source

The Joker's on the loose....

A new pic of Heath Ledger and Maggie Gyllenhaal as the Joker and Rachel Dawes from the next Batman installment, The Dark Knight, has emerged. Heath looks appropriately sinister as the Joker - sporting his acid scars and messy makeup.

In Anticipation of the movie's release - a police report of the Joker's death, and the mob mayhem that accompanied said death, has also been released. Click on the picture at left to see the full report. Click here to see pictures of the "recruited" Jokers that helped the maniacal mastermind.

The pics below are some shots in and around the movie's filming. There are tons of surveillance shots here.

You can check out the new trailer here.... but you're gonna have to wait until next summer for the real deal! I'm actually kinda excited for this one. Any excuse to get Christian Bale and Heath all to myself for 2 hours. sigh.

Edward Scissorhands or Sweeney Todd?

The movie poster for this Christmas' fright flick, Sweeney Todd, has been released, and I find it not-so-oddly reminiscent of the attic Johnny Depp inhabited as Edward Scissorhands. I suppose Tim Burton isn't above stealing from himself, not that I really care. I can't wait to see this movie... it's based on Steven Sondheim's murderous musical. Helena Bonham Carter also stars.

Sounds like the perfect way to unwind after spending Christmas day with the family ... fantasize about murdering and eating them! ha! Source

Bob a la Blanchett - Cate does Dylan!

Cate Blanchett is a true chameleon... not only does she have the sequel to Elizabeth I, The Golden Age,  coming out this fall but she is also diving into the depths of Bob Dylan's psyche in I'm not There. Here's the first clip I've seen of the Oscar winner portraying the grammy winner. I love the moodiness - I wouldn't recognize her if I didn't already know. She's really an amazing actress. Uh oh, goofy girl crush alert!

The Simpsons conquer gay Paree!

The Simpson clan was on their best model behavior when they donned the dandy garb of the couture community and graced the pages of the upcoming Bazaar magazine. Outfitted in fashion's finest, they explore the world of glitz and glam with Linda Evangelista as their guide. Along the way? Stops at Lanvin, Jean Paul Gaultier, Versace, Louis Vuitton, Chanel and Viktor & Rolf. Marge is quite the stunner, who knew?

I suppose once they became bonafide movie stars, it was inevitable that the Simpsons would become all cultured and everything. I love this layout... it's inspired!  My favorite is Maggie's carrying case by Gaultier. A designer dog couldn't do better! At least she'll never outgrow it!  Catch their big screen debut on July 27th! Source

Costumed Cate is a confection

My all-time favorite actress, Cate Blanchett, will be revisiting her iconic role as Queen Elizabeth in this fall's The Golden Age. Geoffrey Rush is back as her confidante and trusty sidekick while this time around sexy Clive Owen as Sir Walter Raleigh catches her romantic eye. I'm sure fireworks will ensue, being QE is known for her virginal status... but, hey, it's the movies!

I'm a total sucker (and, yes I know, a big dork) for a costume drama and this time it looks like I'm gonna hit the jackpot. Check out this trailer if you're in the mood for a little costume porn like me. The movie releases everywhere in October but will debut in September at the Toronto film festival as it's Gala feature. ooh, la, la! I can't wait, I can't wait!! Photo source

Six degrees of freelulu!
Okay, here goes, this one is a technicality because it involves a little time travel, but I'm counting it anyways. My husband (1) has an ancestor who shall remain nameless (2) who was beheaded by the order of Henry the VIII (3) who is Queen Elizabeth's father (4) who is played by Cate Blanchett (5) in the movie!

Pax joins the tattoo roster.

Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt stirred up the publicity wagon this week at the premiere of Angie's new movie, A Mighty Heart. The movie is about the freedom of speech that is imperative for a journalist to truly do his/her job. At the premiere, reporters were asked to sign a document prohibiting them to ask the power couple about their personal life.

I love irony. Angelina admitted to the fascist faux-pas on The Daily Show to Jon Stewart, explaining that her over-zealous handlers were just trying to protect her. Yeah, right.

I guess Angelina must have felt bad, because later that evening she gave a stranded paparazzi a ride. Plus Angie dished quite a bit on the red carpet after all. She admitted to wanting a family of children ranging between 7 and 14 in number. Watch out Mia... saint Angelina is comin' to getcha! She also confessed that her little black dress came with a little price tag... only $26! I suppose spending a lot of time with starving people in third world countries might make you bargain shop once in a while. Anyways, she looks lovely as usual.

In other Brangelina news, the newest to the Brangelina brood, Pax Thien J-P, has officially earned his birthright place on his mom's arm. That $26 dress showed off her newest tattoo of his birthplace coordinates. With 14 kids on the horizon, she better leave some room on that arm!  Source

Will White wear the jumpsuit?

Rumor has it that Jack White is set to play the King of Rock and Roll, Elvis Presley, in an upcoming musical spoof based on Walk the Line. My absolute favorite singer of all time, played by my favorite singer of the last 5 years... my dreams are coming true folks, they're coming true. sigh.

The White Stripes and Raconteurs frontman has confirmed he has been cast in 'Walk Hard', a spoof about a rockabilly singer called Dewey Cox (played by John C. Reilly), thought to be a cross between Roy Orbison and Johnny Cash. The character will come into contact with a host of real-life legends in the film, one of which will be White's Elvis. Source

I'll be keeping an eye out for this one... first of all, I love a good spoof movie. Second of all, who can stay away from Jack White? I've already seen Coffee & Cigarettes and Cold Mountain more than once... and that wasn't easy! Stay tuned....

Penny Pingleton you are permanently punished!

John Waters is one of my all-time cinematic heroes. Therefore, I'm not sure exactly how I feel about the upcoming movie-cum-musical-cum-movie that is due out this summer. It's packed with a-list stars including John Travolta, Michelle Pfeiffer, Queen Latifah, and Christopher Walken.

These movie stills have got me curious though... Michelle looks fabulous and Velma Von Tussle and Allison Janney looks like she knows exactly how to punish Miss Penny Pingleton! The casting is there... the musical has great songs... John Waters seems to like it... could we have a winner? Or will we have another Producers on our hands? We'll see on July 20th when Hairspray hits theaters. Make sure you don't get a seat behind a hair hopper!  Source
