Put Royal Triton in Cynthia's Tummy?
This 1950s commercial for Union Oil featuring Marilyn Monroe is a little strange to say the least. Marily has named her first car Cynthia and is going to treat her better than any car has ever been treated. Hence the triton in the tummy comment. Evidently this ad was banned for some reason or another... leave a comment if you know the details about it.
See the USA in your Chevrolet
Dinah Shore's history as the face of Chevrolet started in 1951 - and in 1952, she made this famous spot with the catchy tune. This one makes me want to point my Chevrolet to the east, then to the west, and back again. You grab the ipod, and I'll grab a snack pak and we'll get on the road!
See if you can catch it - subliminal advertising in it's infancy.
This 1959 spot for the Chevrolet Impala features Pat Boone and Dinah Shore singin' a little ditty about some sly subliminal advertising. Don't blink or you might miss the car. Lots of singin... but not a lot of car in this one.
